Iran Fires Multiple Missiles at Israel, Injuring 17 — Teenager in Critical Condition
Israel was hit by a barrage of missiles launched by Iran early Friday, leaving 17 people wounded, including a 16-year-old boy who is now in serious condition, according to AFP.
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that sirens blared across the country moments after Iranian missiles were detected entering Israeli airspace. Citizens were urged to take shelter as Israel’s missile defense systems were activated to intercept the incoming rockets.
Al Jazeera confirmed that the IDF posted an alert on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, notifying citizens that its air-defense systems were engaged in an effort to neutralize the strikes. Emergency services were dispatched immediately across affected areas.
Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service stated that the teenager sustained serious injuries to his upper body and was rushed to hospital for urgent care. Another 54-year-old man suffered minor wounds to his legs and is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
This latest escalation adds fuel to the ongoing crisis between the two nations, heightening fears of further retaliation and drawing the international community’s attention.
