Washington, D.C. – Yasmin Ansari, the youngest woman currently serving in the U.S. Congress and of Iranian descent, has issued a bold warning regarding former President Donald Trump’s erratic approach to the growing Iran-Israel conflict. In a recent appearance on BBC’s Newsday, Ansari didn’t hold back.

“We have a president who changes his mind every single day. Nobody knows what he truly stands for anymore — and that’s terrifying in a time of global tension,” she said, pointing to Trump’s unpredictable foreign policy decisions.

Ansari, a Democrat and rising progressive voice, expressed “deep concern” over Trump’s handling of the escalating situation, stating that the U.S. must avoid unnecessary military intervention in the Middle East — a region where, historically, American actions have often worsened instability.

“Let’s not forget the Iraq War. America doesn’t have a great track record in this region,” she emphasized.

Speaking passionately about her heritage, Ansari reminded viewers that the Iranian people should not be conflated with their authoritarian government.

“Iranian citizens are not the regime. Millions have been living under an oppressive system since 1979. They don’t deserve bombs raining down on them,” she said, calling for diplomacy and peace over aggression and war rhetoric.

Ansari urged American leadership to prioritize diplomatic solutions, emphasizing that reckless military action could result in unnecessary loss of American lives — a cost the country cannot afford during already turbulent times.

With tensions in the Middle East trending globally on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, voices like Ansari’s are gaining traction among a younger, more globally conscious generation.
