Tehran, Iran – Fearing the risk of radioactive contamination from ongoing Israeli strikes near nuclear facilities, Iran has begun emergency preparations to handle a possible nuclear fallout scenario, according to Deputy Health Minister Ali Jafarian.

In a statement released Monday, Jafarian said there’s no current evidence that Israel has used “unconventional weapons”, but acknowledged that if nuclear reactors are targeted, the government is ready to respond to radioactive exposure events.

“We hope it doesn’t reach that point, but we’re preparing for the worst,” he added.

🏥 Hospitals Under Attack

Jafarian confirmed that at least three hospitals have been hit during Israeli airstrikes, including the complete evacuation of Kermanshah General Hospital.

“All of these strikes have clearly targeted civilian infrastructure,” he noted.
“We urge international organizations, especially the World Health Organization and the Red Cross, to pressure Israel into halting its attacks on civilians.”

However, he expressed skepticism, stating, “After a year and a half of silence over Gaza, we don’t expect much from them.”

⚠️ Rising Civilian Casualties

As the eighth day of Israeli attacks concluded, Iran reported:

  • 430+ civilian deaths

  • Over 3,500 injured

Iranian officials accuse Israel of intensifying airstrikes on non-military targets in what they describe as “deliberate war crimes.”
