Moscow, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia is fully prepared to support Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy program, reiterating that there is no credible evidence suggesting Tehran is pursuing nuclear weapons.

Speaking to Sky News Arabia in a televised interview reported by Reuters, Putin emphasized that neither Russia nor the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has uncovered any proof indicating Iran’s nuclear ambitions are military in nature.

“We have told Israeli leadership many times—there is no evidence Iran is building nuclear weapons,” Putin said.
“Iran has the right to peaceful nuclear development, and we are ready to assist.”

🔍 Diplomatic Push to Avert War

Putin revealed that Russia is actively mediating between Iran and Israel in hopes of ending the escalating conflict. He mentioned that proposals have been exchanged, though did not disclose details.

“We are alarmed by the growing possibility of large-scale global conflict,” said Putin during the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
“All crises must be resolved peacefully.”

⚠️ Concern Over Targeted Assassination Threats

In a strong warning, Putin addressed recent reports that Israel may be considering the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“If this idea is being seriously considered, I sincerely hope it remains only a figure of speech,” he cautioned.

🛡️ NATO Expansion, US Relations & Russian Security

Putin also used the platform to criticize NATO’s eastward expansion, calling it a threat to Russian national security and a continuation of Western colonialism.

He further claimed that former U.S. President Donald Trump had assured him of American cooperation in ensuring the safety of Russian personnel stationed at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant.
