Former U.S. President Donald Trump stirred fresh controversy on Wednesday by claiming that Iran had offered to send officials to the White House for peace talks amid the ongoing Israel-Iran war.
Speaking to reporters on June 18, Trump said:
“If Iran had shown interest in talks two weeks ago, there would have been no death, no destruction. But now they want to come to the White House and talk.”
However, Iran has strongly denied this claim — calling it “a complete fabrication.”
❌ Iran Calls Trump's Statement a Lie
In a fiery statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations wrote:
“No Iranian official ever requested to sit at the gates of the White House. This claim is false. What’s even more disgraceful is Trump’s open threat to assassinate our Supreme Leader.”
The statement added:
“Iran does not negotiate under pressure — and we will never accept peace forced by coercion. Especially not with warmongers obsessed with dominance.”
🕊️ Rumors of Peace Talks in Oman — Denied by Tehran
Several Israeli media outlets reported that Iran had allegedly sent three planes, including one carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, to Oman for secret ceasefire talks.
However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi flatly rejected this rumor:
“Iran has not sent any negotiators to Oman. These reports are completely baseless,” he said in a televised statement.
Tehran emphasized that no backdoor diplomacy is underway, and accused certain media houses of trying to shape false narratives to weaken Iran’s stance.
🌐 Global Context
As misinformation spreads during this critical phase of the Middle East conflict, both the United States and Iran are locked in a dangerous war of words — one that could soon translate into a full-scale escalation if diplomacy continues to collapse.
With the Israel-Iran war entering its most volatile week yet, world powers remain on edge as the battle shifts from airstrikes to global narratives.
